Car detailers clean and restore vehicles, both inside and out. They use a variety of techniques, including washing, waxing, and polishing. Detailing is more precise and labor-intensive than a car wash.

Responsibilities 

  • Cleaning: Wash, vacuum, shampoo, and steam clean vehicles

  • Protecting: Apply waxes, polishes, and protective coatings

  • Inspecting: Look for damages and defects

  • Documenting: Take photos and write reports about the vehicle's condition

  • Operating equipment: Use buffers, steamers, hoses, and vacuums & chemicals

  • Maintaining: Keep the detailing area clean and organized

  • Complying with standards: Meet company standards and client requests

Skills 

  • Understanding of cleaning products, tools, and equipment

  • Knowledge of steam cleaners, pressure washers, microfiber towels, and washing mitts

  • Ability to use a variety of waxes and polishes
